Event: Pathways for Comprehensive Reparation for Survivors of Torture in Bangladesh
REDRESS, Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST), and the United Against Torture Consortium (UATC) will host a side-event to the 61st Session of the UN Human Rights Council on the Pathways for Comprehensive Reparation for Survivors of Torture in Bangladesh.

The event will examine the avenues and obstacles to accessing reparation for survivors of torture in Bangladesh, with a particular focus on survivors of the July/August 2024 uprising. The discussion will draw on a new briefing paper prepared by REDRESS and BLAST, which analyses existing judicial and administrative mechanisms for reparation, identifies key barriers faced by survivors, and makres recommendations for reform.
