REDRESS in Practice Webinar Series

We’re launching a new webinar series to share REDRESS and partners’ insights on the practical aspects of strategic litigation and reparation for torture survivors.

Join us for a cross-regional webinar bringing together litigators, CSOs, and survivors to share strategies and experiences in implementing human rights decisions and securing reparations for survivors of torture and other grave violations.

This webinar will be hosted by REDRESS and the Implementation Working Group (IWG), an initiative of the Litigants Group for the Strengthening of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights Protective Mandate.

The panel will include:

  • African System: Michael Gyan Nyarko, Deputy Director, The Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA)
  • Inter-American System: Alejandra Escobar Cortázar, International Litigation Coordinator, Colectivo de Abogados y Abogadas José Alvear Restrepo
  • European System: Ramute Remezaite, Implementation Lead, European Human Rights Advocacy Centre (EHRAC)
  • International System: Salina Kafle, Executive Director, Human Rights and Justice Centre (HRJC)

Moderated by Rachel Murray, Director of Human Rights Implementation Centre at the University of Bristol Law School and will take place on 24 September 2025 at 2:00 pm CET

Participants will exchange lessons learned, address structural obstacles, and strengthen cross-regional collaboration to advance a growing community of practice on reparation. This session will also cover the content of our Practice Note on Implementation of Decisions and Practice Note on Claiming and Implementing Reparation for Survivors of Torture.
